Advocacy is the reason we started Hey Fam.
At Hey Fam, we are deeply committed to advocacy, for foster parents, kids in care and individuals living with disabilities. Our foundation lies in the personal experiences and narratives of dedicated foster parents and individuals with disabilities. We actively engage in outreach, research, and immersive listening to comprehend the issues prevailing within the foster care and disability sectors.
We are vigilant in monitoring the ever-evolving dynamics in our advocacy efforts to pinpoint systemic deficiencies within support systems. The knowledge acquired through these endeavors serves as the cornerstone for fostering enduring, positive change. We passionately champion the concerns of foster parents and individuals with disabilities, with a focus on addressing unique challenges and regional disparities.
Our mission is to ensure that legislation, guidelines, and practices align with the rights and interests of both foster parents and individuals with disabilities. Advocacy is the driving force behind our organisation, stemming from personal experiences that led to the creation of Hey Fam. We understand the challenges one faces when navigating the complexities of the disability support and foster care systems, and we are here to provide support and amplify the voices of those who may not be heard elsewhere.
