Advocacy is why Hey Fam exists.
It’s the work we’ve done long before we knew that there was a name for it, and it’s the work we continue to do with more understanding, clarity and experience than when we first began.
Our approach is grounded in lived experience. It’s our strength. We support people in the disability space, young people in care, and the carers who hold everything together. We understand the system not just from policy documents, but from the day‑to‑day realities of the people moving through it. We are in it.
We listen first. We take the time to understand what’s happening for someone, what’s getting in the way, and where the system isn’t working. We advocate in a way that is steady, informed, strong and practical. Sometimes that means navigating NDIS processes. Sometimes it means challenging decisions. Sometimes it is helping someone feel heard.
We translate lived experience into meaningful action, and we push for outcomes that make sense for the people they impact.
