At Hey Fam, advocacy isn’t an add-on. It’s our foundation. We stand alongside individuals living with disability, young people in care, and foster carers because we’ve lived the system, seen its gaps, and felt its weight.
Our work is grounded in years of lived experiences, real stories, real struggles, and a deep commitment to change.
We listen first. Through outreach, research, and relational engagement, we listen to the stories that shape people’s experiences in the OOHC system or living with a disability. We identify where our systems fall short...and we speak up.
Our advocacy focuses on practical impact: challenging policy blind spots, addressing regional inequities, and pushing for culturally safe, trauma-informed practice.
We’re not here to tick boxes. We’re here to turn them into something useful...steps to success.
Whether it’s navigating NDIS complexity, supporting carers through burnout, or amplifying the voices of those who rarely feel heard, Hey Fam is built to stand in the gap. We’re here to make sure legislation, guidelines, and frontline practice reflect the realities of the people they’re meant to serve.
